Man, such a fantastic stream this had...
And I was SUPER pressed for time...
hopefully, as of late, I have been more
intelligent with my schedule to blend
update days and hand ins I owe.
Yay for me :)
So, answer me this, which is the strongest
"feel" moment in the series in your opinion?
Hooray for smart planning! I'm super psyched to see how Pituka's gonna react.
I think that the strongest "feel" moment has to be when Pucho and Luna reunite after Luna ran off into the woods. Lots of strong emotions and soul searching coming to a climax with that hug... yeah that's definitely it.
On the one hand, Pucho has returned to normal... though we got to wonder if the muzzle growing back would have been a weird sensation. Though, he's unconscious, guess he didn't feel it.
On the other, I wished I could have seen the stream today. Darned class.
Man, if I was ever going to get around to making a video game for Pobre Pucho, I would just rip the sprites into a Binding of Issac clone or something. Probably cause of all the damn TEARS the characters are leaking all over the place.
I would say the best "feel moment" would be the one entry in the archives where it shows how Nelly and Pervy (Hos) met for the first time. Somewhat relates to a school day I had. But I'm gonna keep that private. (New to this Webcomic. Yet, I finished in two days. Frustration seethes within me.)
Oh man, I really feel with Francis right now. :c We germans must hold together. This is for me definitely the strongest feel moment right now, you just perfectly set the mood in the last panel. Other then that, I really look forward to seeing what comes next, will it be more feels? Will Francis go over his borders and help Pituka? We will have to wait till the next Page comes up.
This is so sad :( I want Francis to help out, I'm still trying to figure out why he still has a hands off kind of relationship towards Pituka.
Also, I think the most feels moment for me was in "Sweet Inside" when Nelly opened up to Pucho and showed her soft non-pain inducing side (so adorable).
When Nelly thought Pervy was dead before the ending of that strip,that moment gave me a little feels. But a major feels moment for me was when Luna was telling her and Dante's origin way back in the early days of the comics. I just wanted to give her a hug at that moment.
I know I'm chiming in late, but a few folks have asked why Francis is hiding and holding back from helping.
We have a pretty good idea of Pituka's background. It hasn't been clearly stated or declared, but there has been enough exposition that it would be pretty hard to deny.
What we do NOT know is if Pituka herself is aware of her background, heritage, and probable birthright. She may have no knowledge of who her true parents are (though I imagine it would be hard for her NOT to know that she was raised by the matriarch of the Dream Soldiers, it's possible that she doesn't even know that fact). We know that she uses/wears a magical inhibitor of some sort, and that it seems to inhibit her fur color from being...something other than what we see in daylight (in the tent, it looked dark; it COULD have been red or black). It could also be the reason that she has no sense of smell (possible side-effect). We do NOT know if she wears it to hide what she or Tammy regard as a stigma, or whether she is actively hiding her family bloodline (has the population of Paws Den actually seen their queen, or know what she looks like?)...and if the latter, whether it is because she is just hiding from the Queen's servants, or because she is afraid her friends would treat her differently, or that she might lose them altogether.
If Pituka knows what we think WE know, she may still not know about Francis. Either way, his sudden appearance will certainly alarm her, almost certainly raise questions, and will be something of a shock. Francis does not know whether or not Pituka knows of her heritage and of him (at least I have seen nothing to indicate that he knows, his earlier meeting with Missy leads me to believe that he has been out of the picture first due to his imprisonment, and later due to an inability to locate her (with a certain maternal, protective caution on the part of Missy), and was desperate both to find her and yet shield her from whatever the Queen (who seeks her) has plans for her. Despite his desire to interact with her He has remained hidden, both from concern for Pituka's well-being, and to honor his promise to Missy, regarding her safety.
Right now - Pituka is in extreme distress, and now that Francis knows that she can't locate her best friend by a Lycan's normal sense of smell (let alone a vulpine's enhanced smell), his heart is breaking to see her in such desperate need to find and save her friend. He is compelled to intervene at some level, and he must do WHATEVER he is going to do, NOW.
********
...And I'm going to cop out and say that I can't define a SPECIFIC point which is the most heart-tugging. This strip has had more than a few, and all of them have "pegged the meter" beyond full-scale, including this one.
.
Pucho CAN smell, and the fact that he was freaking out earlier in the fight against the Dream Soldier means that he couldn't detect Nelly anyways. Something BAD has happened to Nelly, then, probably human-deathed?
Francis probably observed all this since he knows where Nelly is hidden; the irony is that Pucho could not have helped with his sense of smell anyways. Pituka probably relies too much on the help of others, and/or is too quick to blame her shortcomings for her problems.
Think Baker had to alter his schedule a bit to get 2 comics a week in; the last few weeks the comic has already been done by Mon/Fri evenings. Maybe try checking on Discord or Picarto everytime you turn on a computer?
SkunkWitch, the streams every MON/FRI at 4pm (+-2 hours due to college right now) EDT time. Overflow/extra streams at SATURDAY 1PM EDT time.

"Let me tell you a secret, about a father's love;
A secret that my daddy said was just between us;
You see, fathers don't just love their children,
Every now and then;
It's a love without end, amen."
I'm not a father. Probably never will be. But even I know that watching their child suffer is the most agonizing of tortures a parent can feel. It's been a long time since I've seen a comic that's able to capture that emotion of torment. Very well done.

Man, this page is so deep that Adele could roll in it!
LOVE the shading on the last panel, by the way!

I hope this helps. Thanks for asking!
